Guide "Greener approaches to flood risk management, Romania"

JBA has developed the Guide "Greener Approaches to Flood Risk Management, Romania".

Structured in 7 chapters, it sets out the strategic directions for the development of a project/investment object, from the planning stage to the feasibility study. The guide proposes a hierarchy of green measures (see attached figure) and, most importantly, it correlates the measures in the Catalogue of National Measures associated with the Flood Risk Management Plan with the typology of Romanian watercourses (as defined by the Water Framework Directive in the River Basin Management Plans).

The Guide also provides "decision trees" to identify appropriate measures according to site conditions (relief, urban/rural areas, etc.) and presents tools to assess proposed green approaches (multi-criteria analysis, hydraulic modelling, robustness tests - Climate Change, Water Framework Directive, Habitats Directive, cost-benefit analysis), providing examples of solutions to "green" proposed (or existing) grey measures.
