Pitesti, the first city in Romania for which JBA Consult Europe will elaborate the Surface Water Management Plan

On October 10th, at the Pitesti City Hall, Mrs. Daniela Radulescu, General Director, signed the contract for the elaboration of the first Romanian Surface Water Management Plan (SWMP).

This contract was signed in the context of the requirements set out by the Flood Directive, namely the Flood Risk Management Plan for RBA Arges Vedea (FRMP) , approved by GD 886/2023. Among the measures proposed within the FRMP, there is also the measure of SWMP elaboration for the urban areas defined as areas with potential significant risk to pluvial floods.

Pitesti municipality is the first of the 17 urban areas with potential significant risk to pluvial floods reported by Romania to the European Commission, starting the elaboration of the SWMP.

We are glad for the trust given and we wish that through our effort we can contribute to mitigation of risk represented by the pluvial floods that Pitesti Municipality is frequently facing in the last years.
