DEDICATED TRAINING

  • Personalized training – from basic to advanced levels in specialized modeling programs (fluvial, pluvial, and dam/levee breach), illustrated with concrete examples and practical sessions.
  • Training on promoting Green Infrastructure and Nature-based Solutions in urban environments and at river basin level.

RELEVANT PROJECTS / EXPERIENCE

In the framework of the project (2022 – 2023), JBA Consult Europe provided a training programme attended by about 300 representatives from MMAP, ANAR, ABA, INHGA, as well as County Councils, Emergency Inspectorates, Prefectures, Ministries and other Central Authorities.

During these training sessions, JBA Consult Europe explained the new concepts of the strategy, its objectives and vision, the proposed performance indicators and their quantification, the proposed action directions and measures for the implementation of the strategy, as well as the monitoring indicators associated to each measure.

In 2023, within a contract signed with HKV - the Netherland, under Blue Deal program, JBA Consult Europe prepared the training NbS Curriculum & associated training materials and participated, jointly with HKV, in effective training delivery; the final Beneficiary was Siret River Basin Authority (part of N.A. Apele Romane), so the training was tailored on the adaptation of potential NbS and Green Infrastructure to the local specific geomorphological conditions.

Within the project Technical Support for the elaboration of Flood Risk Management Plans in Romania - RO FLOODS (Client - World Bank, Beneficiaries - MoEWF, NARW, RBA and NIHWM), JBA provided, between 2021 and 2022, a training program on the following topics (each topic being covered by several training modules): Hydrological and Hydraulic Modelling (Fluvial, Pluvial and Dike Breach); Programs of Measures Development (Prevention, Protection and Preparedness; Multi-Criterial Analysis and Cost-Benefit Analysis for the evaluation of APFSR strategies and integrated projects; Feasibility and Justification); Stakeholders engagement and communication; Green Infrastructure and Nature-Based Solutions (for fluvial, pluvial and coastal flood risk management, including spatial planning). The training was attended by a number of over 100 representatives of NARW, RBA and NIHWM.

The project was led by JBA Consulting UK and its main objective was to strengthen the capacity of the State Hydrometeorological Service both in terms of demand and supply of hydrometeorological services and to strengthen the interface between service providers and users.

JBA Consult Europe helped to support training sessions for all SHS staff involved in QMS. Through this introductory training, the principles and practices related to ISO 9001 were presented, thus supporting SHS for a successful implementation of QMS with the aim of obtaining ISO certification.

JBA provided in 2018 a training programme in Flood Risk Management for NARW, NIHWM and all 11 River Basin Authorities in the country. The Programme addressed the question "How to use the Guideline for development the Feasibility Studies for FRM projects under EU LIOP (Large Infrastructure Operational Programme) financing?"

Main subjects: FRMPs and their link with Flood Directive requirements. Main gaps; Forming the long list of measures; Spatial scale of the assessment of measures - basin, sub catchment, reach; Modelling required for supporting measures testing and Option Appraisal; Forming options from measures; Adaptation to climate changes; Multi-Criterial Analysis; Cost Benefit Analysis; Study cases. The training was attended by a number of 70 representatives of Romanian water related Authorities
